Lancy Carr, a tennis teacher in the Phoenix, AZ area and is an avid fan and provider of Cardio Tennis. She believes it is a great way to get more people to play tennis, without having the pressure of competition. Lancy is a big advocate of introducing beginners to tennis through Cardio Tennis, as well as helping better players improve their skills. She says, "beginners can see what a great workout tennis is, and intermediate and advanced players get a chance to improve skills and their fitness/endurance." Tracy Besek was once an avid tennis player, but gave up the sport when she had children. However, when her kids, now 4 and 6, wanted to begin playing Tracy signed them up for lessons and decided she would pick the game back up by "jumping into the cardio tennis class offered to get her feet wet in tennis again and start back on track to better health." She attributes her foundation to healthier "me"hmm to the heart pumping workout that Cardio Tennis offers. Althought it wasn't easy, as Tracy says "I thought I would die in the first 10 minutes last year in my first session," she is now participating in 2 Cardio Tennis sessions per week, playing league tennis twice per week, as well as kick boxing, spin class, and weight workouts. Since last year Tracy has dropped 50 pounds in her new healthier lifestyle. According to Tracy, her endurance, strength, and agility has doubled in the last year, "this all thanks to Cardio Tennis getting me started on the right track!" Tracy recommends Cardio Tennis to all of her friends who don't know what to do to get started back on the fit and active track. She says "it was a great program that built my confidence back up and I meet some great friends along the way." As with all Cardio Tennis classes, Tracey realizes it's not about the tennis result, saying that "you don't need to be a tennis pro to do it...you just have to have the dedication to be fit and healthy!
Aimme Crant-Oksa, a Clinical Nutrition Manager, knows the importance of being fit, and is using Cardio Tennis to help her achieve a healthy and active lifestyle. Aimee says that "Cardio Tennis is the best workout I have ever done." Like many Cardio Tennis participants, Aimee prefers getting on the court rather than going to the gym. In fact, she says "as a tennis lover and a gym hater, Cardio Tennis is the perfect fit for me." Last summer, Aimee began Cardio Tennis at Jersey 34, and really enjoyed the movement, the instructors, and the entire Cardio Tennis experience. During the fall, Aimee was somewhat disappointed that there were no evening classes at her facility, but as summer approaches again, she is hoping that Cardio Tennis will help her lose the last 10 pounds she has been trying to drop. Aimee says that "Cardio Tennis really helps me move better on the court, while getting a great workout. I have been dieting and upping my tennis for 1 1/2 years now and am down 66 pounds." With the continous movement and heart rate monitoring, Aimee says she "just loves the intensity of Cardio Tennis."
In November 2009 a career opportunity required Cris to travel from her home in Los Angeles to Albany, NY for extended periods of time. Did Cris let this stop her Cardio Tennis routine? No way! Through the Cardio Tennis website, Cris found the Capitol Region Tennis and Fitness Center and inquired about their Cardio Tennis program. She received an immediate response from Mike Muscato, Director of Player Development. The Capitol Region facility has 6 indoor courts that are perfect for playing in the very cold and inclement East Coast winter weather! Cris booked classes twice a week whenever she was in Albany. Then Cris set a goal for herself, to participate in a Cardio Tennis class on each coast in the same week. Rain in LA and Christmas and New Year's Holidays presented challenges in reaching the goal, but on January 14, 2010 Cris achieved her goal and successfully played Cardio Tennis on the East Coast and the West Coast in the same week!
